Health and safety

Dogs should not be brought to the event if they are coughing or recently been in contact with any infectious diseases. It is the owner’s responsibility to ensure their dog is fit and healthy before racing. If in doubt, consult your vet.

No bitches in season are permitted to race, furthermore it is requested that they are kept clear of the race course.

Please listen to our race briefing and marshal instructions. If you have any concern about your dog or yourself during the race, please approach the nearest marshal and advise them of this. If you have any concerns about yourself or your dog prior to racing or after racing, please find one of the organisers and advise them accordingly.

Remember to allow plenty of time between feeding your dog and racing. Furthermore, allow your dog to drink little and often as required, but do not allow your dog to gulp water during the run or straight after. Please ensure they have a drink, but go back for more if healthy before racing.

We are fortunate to be supported by a number of great sponsors. Confirmed attendees this year are Happy Go Lucky Dog Company, Freckles Designs and Harbro Retail. More details to follow.

Every year we choose a different dog-related charity, and this year our chosen charity is the Canine Concern Scotland Trust (inc Therapet). The organisation rehomes dogs, and also train and facilitate dogs to visit the elderly and sick as a way of helping them recover or just feel better. We all know how great it is to stroke a dog! We’ll be holding a raffle on race day to raise cash for the charity, and volunteers will be on hand to answer questions about the organisation.
